Working from home - Lesson Plan

Working from home – Lesson Plan

Speaking Lesson Plan (B2)

During the quarantine, all my students started to work from home. Throughout these weeks, I’ve observed how they have been overwhelmed by the routine of family/work/uncertanties/changes. They really needed to talk, to express their feelings and fears. So I designed this lesson to give them opportunity to talk and learn new vocabulary.

In this lesson, the lead-in is a brainstorming about the advantages and disadvantages of working from home (slide 1) . Followed by a discussion about having (or not) an appropriate space to work (slide 2).

Key vocabulary is presented in a matching exercise (slide 3). You should use Google Slides in editing mode and give the screen control to your student.

The video discusses the positive/negative sides of working from home and add some tips to help us succeeding at it (slides 4 and 5). Both are interactive slides. You should use Google Slides in editing mode and give the screen control to your student.

There is an extra activity at the end: an infographic that can be used to read for specific information and boost a further discussion about the benefits of teleworking to the employee and employer (slides 6-10).
