Personalizing your Google Classroom cover

Personalizing your Google Classroom cover

When creating a new room in Google Classroom, I used to spend long minutes searching through the cover templates it offers. The problem was I could never find one that was closely related to my students profile, working area or hobbies.

So I decided to personalize the covers adding my students pictures and other images, but they would never fit the correct size. One solution I found was creating the covers using Canva and uploading them to Google Classroom.

Canva is a graphic design platform to create social media graphics, presentations, posters and other visual materials for free. You can upload photos from your computer or search online on free image banks, such as Pixabay and Pexels

First thing you should know it the right size for Google Classroom cover: 1.000 x 250 pixels, in png or jpeg.

You will need to login on Canva (you can use your Gmail account), then choose “create a design”/ “personalized dimensions”: insert 1.000 x 250 pixels.

After editing your Google Classroom cover, download it in .jpeg or .png and upload to Google Classroom.
